Let’s Celebrate National Flossing Day!

While we know many of our patients will be busy celebrating Thanksgiving at the end of this month, we have another special day that we are preparing for, National Flossing Day! This day is celebrated on the fourth Friday of November, which happens to be the day after Thanksgiving. National Flossing Day was established in 2000 and is a special day dedicated to the importance of flossing your teeth and raising awareness about the benefits of proper oral hygiene for your teeth and gums.

The Benefits Of A Bridge

It can be stressful to deal with oral health complications and tooth loss. If you or a loved one is experiencing complications, we want to remind you that we are here to help and support you. One way we do that is to make treatment recommendations based on what you need to restore your oral health. One treatment we may suggest for severe decay or a missing tooth is a porcelain bridge. We want to be sure that our patients feel informed and comfortable with any treatment we recommend. Read on to learn more about this treatment and how we use it to improve a patient’s oral health.

What Is Causing My Gums To Bleed?

Do you regularly notice red or pink when you rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth? This can indicate bleeding gums. Bleeding gums can happen from something as simple as food that is caught between your teeth or perhaps when food scratches your gums. If you experience bleeding gums regularly, it can be an indication that you have a problem with your oral health. Bleeding gums can be caused by one of the following reasons:

What Are Dental Implants?

Have you recently experienced tooth loss and are now struggling to choose the tooth replacement option that is best for your needs? Let’s Celebrate National Tooth Fairy Day!

There are some special days that we celebrate in the month of February, such as Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day. You may be surprised to learn there is another important day that can be celebrated during this month, National Tooth Fairy Day! If you are unfamiliar with this special day, it is celebrated on February 28th. National Tooth Fairy Day is actually celebrated twice a year, and the other day to celebrate is August 22nd. We celebrate this special day twice a year to signify that your child should be visiting the dentist every six months for a hygiene examination. National Tooth Fairy Day is also a special way to celebrate a young child losing their baby teeth and the cute little fairy who comes and collects all of the lost teeth.

It’s For Your Own Good…

We would love for our patients to have ideal health and never need a preventative, restorative, or cosmetic dental treatment. Unfortunately, that is not reality, and we see patients every day who are in need of treatments to restore the function of their teeth or improve the aesthetics of their smile. While the treatment itself is critical, it is even more important to follow the pre and post-treatment instructions that we provide. Not following our instructions can lead to severe damage to your oral health.

Caring For Teeth When Sick

What is your favorite season of the year? Although each season has its positives and negatives, one of the biggest negatives of the winter season is getting sick. After the past few years, we think we can all agree that we know more about illness than ever before. For example, many of us are more diligent about using hand sanitizer and washing our hands whenever possible. No matter what precautions you may take, catching an illness is always a concern. You may be surprised to learn there are certain precautions you should take with your oral health when you are sick.
