What to Expect During Your First Visit
At Pollard Dental, we love to welcome new patients to our dental family! We offer state-of-the-art dental treatment with a personal touch. We know that visiting a new dental office can cause anxiety for some patients. Our office has the friendliest and warmest team in town, and we will welcome you with open arms and treat you like a member of our family. Dr. Pollard truly listens to your needs and concerns. We wanted to take a moment and explain what your first visit to our office might look like.
Let’s Get to Know You
When you first arrive at the office, we will have some paperwork for you to fill out to tell us about your dental history. If you would feel more comfortable completing the paperwork at your leisure, the information is available to be printed from our website, and you can bring it completed to your appointment. Be sure to share any information about any medications, previous illnesses or conditions that may affect your dental care. A number of medications can affect any treatment we perform and may require extra precautions during your procedure.
We will also fully review your dental history. Please be completely honest about any areas of the mouth that are causing discomfort and any previous treatments you may have had. At times, patients are insecure about sharing their dental health out of fear of being judged. We want to assure you that we want the best for your oral health and have no preconceived notions about any treatments that you may or may not have had. We want to help you get your oral health on track.
The Hygiene Examination
During your first visit, we will take X-rays of your teeth, clean your teeth thoroughly, as well as check for signs of gum disease and oral cancer. We will review our findings and address any additional concerns you may have. This is the perfect time to share any changes you would like to see with your smile. We offer a number of cosmetic treatments that can make great aesthetic improvements to any areas that might be concerning you.
We are thrilled and excited to welcome you to our family at Pollard Dental, located in Silverdale, WA. If you have any additional questions prior to your first appointment, please contact the office. We are looking forward to meeting you soon!
